Mangalore, Jan 22,2013: The silver jubilee celebrations  of Jamiyyatul Falah  will be inaugurated by Y Abdulla Kunhi, Chancellor of Yenepoya University at a function to be held at the JF Community Centre at Kankanady on January  27.

Informing this to reporters on January 22, Tuesday, Khaleel Ahmed, President, Jamiyyatul Falah, DK and Udupi district units,  said a host of dignitaries will attend the function. Among those who will grace the occasion include U T Khader, MLA, Dr. Mohan Alva, Chairman, Alva’s Education Foundation, Nisar Ahmed, Chairman, Presidency Group of Institutions, Abdussalam Puthige, Chief Editor, Vartha Bharathi  and Sheik Lathief, Chief Accounts Officer, Zilla Panchayat.

Khaleel Ahmed informed that the organization was founded in the year 1988 and has since then  engaged itself in social service activities. Listing out the welfare programmes initiated by Jamiyyatul Falah, he said it  has opened a Kannada school at Adkare Padpu near Konaje, a boys hostel in Mangalore and  residential complex for women in Bolar. He said it has also provided free medical aid and ambulance services for poor in rural areas of two taluks in Udupi. 

The organization has also been helping poor patients to avail dialysis treatment in hospitals at Mangalore and Udupi at concessional rates. Under its Akrandana project, it has built houses and toilets for poor, he informed.

The official logo of the silver jubilee fete was also unveiled at the press meet.

Saduddin M Salih, President, Jamiyyatul Falah Silver Jubilee Reception Committee, Shahul Hameed, General Secretary, DK and Udupi units and other office bearers including  Zameer Amber and   B A Razak,  were present.
