Mangalore: Carol singing contest-Christa Jayanthi Gaanalahari inaugurated

Mangalore, Dec 1, 2012: About fifteen groups from three districts enthralled the audience through their performance on the inaugural day of the three day Christ Jayanthi Gaanalahari-2012, a multi-lingual carol singing contest on November 30, Friday.

 

 

 

 

 

 The St Vincent Ferrer Church Grounds at Valencia was the venue of the event organised by the Church in association with Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh and  Karnataka Christian Education Society.The English Carol singing contest was inaugurated by playing the trumpet.

Rev. Fr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore, who presided over the function, appreciated the organizers for holding the contest in three languages. The Bishop also informed that the Christmas celebration will be held at the Governor’s office on December 9.

Felix D’Souza, environmentalist,  Dr Honey Cabral, Principal of KTC, Manohar Prasad, Bureau Chief of Udayavani,  Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, Valencia Parish Priest, Anil Lobo, President of Catholic Sabha and  Flavia Sequeira, Secretary of the Sabha, were on the dais. Dolphy Saldanha, Louis J Pinto and Fr JB Crasta were also present.

Members of  Ocean Kids dance troupe presented an attractive show on the occasion.
