Mangalore, Jan 31, 2013 :  Bharatanatyam Rangapravesha of twin sisters Ananya S Rao and Apoorva S Rao will be held at Town Hall on February 3 at 5.30 pm  under the aegis of Gaana Nrithya Academy ®, Mangalore.

Speaking at the press meet held on Jan 31, Thursday, Nattuvangam Vidushi Vidyashree Radhakrishna  said that the   twin sisters who are talented Bharatanatyam dancers have  attended various workshops in Kathak and Odissi and have also presented more than 150 stage shows at various places in Karnataka and Kerala. They have even given performances at prestigious events like Dasara Festival of Mysore, Youth Festival Mangalore and Paryayotsav at Udupi.


 She said that both Ananya and Apoorva are presently studying in class 9 at Lady Victoria Girl’s High School, Mangalore and it is for the  first time  in the history of Mangalore that  twin sisters are performing together under the banner of ‘Mangalore Sisters’.


Speaking about the stage programme, B R Sadashiva Rao,  father of Ananya and Apoorva, said that Shri Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji of Shree Shiroor Mutt, Udupi will inaugurate the event and bless the dancers, while Dr G Bheemeshwara Joshi, Dharmadarshi of Shri Annapoorneshwari Temple, Horanadu will preside over the event.


Saxophone Samrat Dr Kadri Gopalnath, Chennai, will participate as the chief guest. Guru Vijaya Rao Tonz, Director, ‘Nateshchwara Dance and Music Academy’ and Anton Tonz, Yoganad Meditation Guru from Baden, Switzerland and Rev Fr Prof Wilson L Vitus D’Souza, Secretary, Catholic Board of Education will be the guests of honour.


Ananya S Rao, Apoorva S Rao, Manjula S Rao and Pradhyumna were present at the press meet.
