Mangalore, June 27, 2013: Bankers’ Club, Mangalore, bid farewell to Ajai Kumar, Chairman of the Club, & CMD of Corporation Bank, at a function arranged on June 24 at the Meeting Hall, Millennium Building, Corporation Bank Head Office. Ajai Kumar as he demits office as CMD of Corporation Bank, on attaining superannuation on June 30, 2013.

Speaking on the occasion,Amarlal Daultani, Executive Director of Corporation Bank, said that Corporation Bank had made remarkable progress and achieved new highs under various business parameters and had also won several prestigious awards and accolades, under Ajay Kumar’s leadership.
Kusuma, DGM, Vijaya Bank and Dr. Chandrashekhar, Chief Manager, Indian Overseas Bank also spoke on the occasion and wished him a peaceful and contented life ahead.
In response, Ajai Kumar, said that he enjoyed his tenure of service in Mangalore. He said his posting as CMD of Corporation Bank had given him an opportunity to implement the ideas he had all along nurtured. Beaming with a sense of satisfaction in having implemented the concept of “circle office” in Corporation Bank, he said that introduction of the “circle office” concept had shown very good results in the Bank and suggested that other banks also could follow suit. “It is not only the speed of decision taking that counts but also the follow up in implementing the decisions taken which helps in reaching the pre-determined targets. Be simple, trust and motivate others and see that the team members at all levels contribute their best for the growth of the organization”, he said.
In his presidential address, P. Jayarama Bhat, Hon. President of Bankers’ Club, Mangalore and Managing Director of the Karnataka Bank, applauded Ajai Kumar’s leadership qualities and said that he was instrumental in bringing about a transformation in Corporation Bank within a short span of 21 months. He also recollected Ajai Kumar’s contribution to the Bankers’ Club and described him as a dynamic leader and a great visionary.
Ramamurthy, Executive President of the Club and General Manager of Corporation Bank delivered the welcome and introductory address. Renuka Bangera, Secretary of the Club and Assistant General Manager, Karnataka Bank proposed the vote of thanks. B M Ramesh, Chief Manager, Karnataka Bank, was the Master of Ceremony.
