Mangalore Airport Well Developed for Next 10 years: Director Vasudeva

Mangalore, Aug 6, 2011 : Airport Director M. R. Vasudeva, who was speaking at a meeting organized by the St. Aloysius College Alumni Association (SACAA), on Aug 5 Friday, said that the Bajpe Airport, which is modernized with an integrated terminal complex and new runway, can comfortably handle cargo and passenger for the following 10 years. The airport now has the ability to handle all existing varieties of aircraft, he added.

 

 

When the runway is extended further, a project worth Rs. 250 crore, he said that the airport can handle any aircraft, adding that the airport can no longer be declared unsafe.

Stating that the airport has been appreciated for its cleanliness, he said that it will soon be the gateway for the products and services of MSEZ.

Claiming that air travel was the cheapest and quickest mode of travel, he said that the time saved actually translates into money earned for busy professionals and businessmen.

SACAA President Arthur D’Souza welcomed the audience, SACAA Talks Convener John B. Monteiro introduced the speaker, and Secretary Naveen Mascarenhas proposed the vote of thanks.
