Mangalore, December 18, 2012: As part of its decennial celebration, the Karnataka Komu Sauharda Vedike(KKSV) will hold an Aikyatha Samavesh at Loyola Hall on Dec 29, Saturday at 9.30 am.
Speaking to press persons at Hotel Woodlands on Dec 18, Tuesday, the Vedike’s State General Secretary K L Ashok, said Indian civil rights activist and journalist Teesta Setalvad and civil rights activist Dr Anand Teltumbde will participate as chief guests at the convention.
He also said that the Convention will commence with a huge procession accompanied by various folk dance troupes. A famous team ‘Makkal Mandram’ from Tamil Nadu will present a Tamate dance, while ‘Sangathi’ team from Ankola and ‘Dalit Kalamandali’ team from Chikkaballapur will present various cultural programmes.
The convention will also include a seminar titled ‘Sauharda Vedike movement and challenges.”
Vedike members Vasudev Boloor, Victor D’Silva, Suresh Bhat Bakrabail, Ali Hasan and Mohammed Kakkinje were present at the press meet.
