Mangalore,Jan23,2013: A three-day Beach Festival and Food Festival will be held at Panambur Beach from January 25 to 27 as part of the ongoing Karavali Utsav 2012-13, informed Venkatesh MV, Assistant Commissioner of Mangalore.

 

 

Addressing a press meet held at the DC office here on January 22, Tuesday, he said a variety of contests and cultural programmes have been organized as part of the three day event. Team Mangalore, a group of kite flyers from Mangalore will present attractive kite shows on all the three-days, he informed.

Various contests including country boat contest, swimming, sand sculpture contest and skating, will be organized. A host of water sports events are also awaiting  enthusiasts.

As part of the Food Fest, a number of stalls offering coastal delicacies and various other food items will keep the taste buds of the visitors tingling.

The Beach Fest and Food Fest will be inaugurated at 4 pm on January 25. This will be followed by kite show and dance and music contests. On January 26, there will be Baby Beach contest  followed by musical programmes. On January 27, Sunday, a skating contest will be held at 8 am followed by swimming and other contests.

The  festivities will conclude with a mesmerizing musical programme by the renowned Euphoria troupe from 6.30 pm onwards.
