Mangalore, Feb 10, 2013:  A two-day HDFC-Mangalore Realty exhibition (Expo) organised by Manipal Ace of Manipal Group, was inaugurated at the TMA Pai Convention Centre here on February 9, Saturday  by PMA Razak, President of CREDAI and Chairman of Plama Group, Mangalore.


Speaking on the occasion, Mr Razak said the construction industry is contributing to a large extend to the development of the nation through creation of job opportunities as well as payment of taxes.

Mr. Razak said as many as 224 auxiliary industries  rely on the construction industry and urged the government to  encourage the industry through incentives like reduced tax, timely granting permitions and approvals etc.


Sagar Mukhyopadhyaya, Vice President (Corporate Affairs) of Manipal Group hoped the  Expo would provide a good platform for direct interaction between builders and customers.

 

Builders from Mangalore, Udupi and Bangalore are exhibiting their projects ranging from luxury to budget houses. 30 stalls have been put up at the Realty Expo. The one that catches the attention first is the model of villas coming up in Shaktinagar. Each of these villas on an area on around five cents has been priced at about Rs. 1 crore.


There were quite a few builders showcasing complexes ranging between 19 and 22 floors. The cost of one such apartment coming up off the Light House Hill Road was priced at around Rs. 4,000 per square feet. The prices of many of the apartments ranged between Rs. 3,500 to 4,500 per square feet.


MM Sundareshan, DGM of HDFC,  Branch Manager, Gowtham Ankola, Pushparaj Jain, CREDAI  Secretary, Kumble Narasimha Prabhu, CEO of Manipal Ace and others were present.

A drawing contest was conducted for children as part of the event.The expo will  be open from 10 am to 8 pm on Sunday, February 10.
