Mandd Shobann invites applications for 5th Global Music Award

Mangalore, Aug 28, 2013: Mandd Sobhann will be organizing the fifth global Konkani music awards at Kalaangann on December  at 6.30pm announced Eric Ozario, gurkaar of Mandd Sobhann.

Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on August 28, Wednesday, he said that the songs of any Konkani vocal music album released in the year 2012 anywhere in the world, in any dialect of Konkani by anyone belonging to any religious denomination are eligible. Devotional songs are also eligible. The award will include a cash prize of Rs 25,000 (each), the title and the trophy and ‘Maan Sanmaam’.

Global Konkani Music Awards will also confer Life Achievement Award comprising of Rs One Lakh, Trophy and Public honour.

Application and nomination can be sent to Kalangann, Shaktinagar, and the last date to receive applications is September 30.

A separate set of judges will select the winners. The final winners will be announced and honored at the function.

The awards include Best Singer Female – 2012, Best Singer Male – 2012, Best Lyricist – 2012, Best Music Composer – 2012, Best Music Arranger – 2012 and Best Music Album – 2012. There is no age limit for the contestants, he said.
