Man arrested for trying to kill wife, molest sister-in-law

Vittal, Mar 17, 2014 : A man who is facing charges of attempting to kill his wife and molest his sister-in-law has been arrested by the Vittal Police at Salettur.

Haneef 1 He has been identified as Haneef alias Jogi Haneef(31), a resident of Mumbai Seeta Camp. His arrest has been made almost five months after the incident.

It was in October last year that Haneef allegedly tried to kill his wife Selima (28) of Neerkaje, thereby injuring her seriously.

He is also facing charges of harassing her both physically and mentally for greed of dowry. Later, Haneef intended to threaten the family for lodging a police complaint against him and reportedly tried to molest his sister-in-law at her house. Another complaint was lodged against Haneef in this connection.

Haneef has been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
