Sources in the excise department say that the two were going to Goa by Konkan Railway. They got down at Suratkal Railway Station as they thought it was a safe place to get down and continue their smuggling activities.

Each sachet contains 90ml liquor, which is sold for Rs. 6 in Kerala and Rs. 13 in Mangalore.
