Mangalore, Sep 19, 2013: MLA J R Lobo released the logo of Alva’s Vishwa Nudisiri Virasat, world Kannada literary conference to be held at Vidyagiri, Moodbidri from December 19 to December 22.


Addressing the press meet held at Hotel Deepa Comfort on Sep 19, Thursday, he said that Alva’s college is making an effort to protect the culture of the country through education. Around 70 percent of the audience witnessing the event are youths, hence they must be encouraged towards cultre, tradition, sports and other activities. He also launched the website www.alvasnudisirivirasat2013.com.

Dr M Mohan Alva, chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation said that the concept of the conference is ‘Kannada Mind- then-now- in future’, which will be felicitated by iconic literary figures, poets, thinkers and artists who upheld Kannada language and literary throughout the world. 


Alva said that Alva’s Nudisiri celebrates its 10th anniversary while Alva’s Virasat celebrates its 20th anniversary; further these two occasions are clubbed together and are celebrated at the global level to spread the Kannada sensibility across the world. Renowned poets, critics, writers and other artists of National and International fame would be a part of this event.


The Alva’s Vishwa Nudisiri Virasat platform situated at Sundari Ananda Alva Campus, while discussions on agriculture, folklore and student discussion will be held in three other platform. The cultural symphony of Alva’s virasat is not been restricted to a single platform rather the cultural performances would be held at 10 different platforms simultaneously. Some of the art forms like Drama, Yakshagana, Folk art; Music’s will be performed at this occasion.


The conference gives keen emphasis to agriculture, folklore, language and literature and hence various exhibitions have been arranged. The highlight of the mega cultural event includes social attraction like Kannada cultural village. Alva’s Chitra siri, book exhibitions, food festival and cultural exhibition will be inaugurated on December 18 and will be kept open for public viewing till December 25.
