Mangalore, Nov 30, 2012 : The driver and the cleaner of a lorry escaped miraculously when their lorry turned turtle on NH66 near Tekal Thota in Katpady on Nov 29, Thursday.

The lorry was transporting rice to Mangalore from Kalasa and turned turtle when the driver lost control over it. The bags of rice were thrown off the lorry all over the road.
Fortunately, the driver and the cleaner did not sustain any injuries.
Reportedly, the driver lost control over the vehicle because of the road widening work on the Katpady highway. Accidents are common in this area because there is no divider near the Tekal Thota turning. The local people have urged authorities concerned to do something about it at the earliest possible.
A case has been registered at the Kaup police station.
