Inspector Uday Nayak said that the team inspected the cash declaration register, which is available in all financial organizations. RTO employees enter the exact amount in their possession both in the mornings and the evenings and, if any difference is found in the amount, they will have to face an enquiry.

The team  checked the registers of 35 RTO employees and found Rs. 30 less than what they had declared in the morning. The team did no take the difference seriously as the employees might have spent the amount on lunch or some other necessary item.

C. Mallikarjuna, the regional transport officer, said that the raid was sudden, but the Lokayukta did not find anything objectionable in the office.

Speaking further, SP Jagamayyanavar said that four RTO employees were caught at the Mangalore RTO in Nov 2010, but this time, the Lokayukta found everything in order.

He said that the RTO collected Rs. 3,37,141, including Rs. 47,600 from the Talapady checkpost, Rs. 28,950 as transport fees, and Rs. 1,12,600 as non transport fees and that all the receipts were kept in order.
