Mangaluru, Feb 09, 2023: KPCC Vice President and former MLC Ivan D’Souza has said that it would be better for Union Home Minister Amit Shah to give importance to solving the problems of the people rather than holding a road show.
Speaking to reporters here, D’Souza said the ordinary citizens are faced with a myriad of problems including unemployment and poverty. To top it all there is a hike in interest rates on home loans. The state has still not got its share in GST and no measure has been taken to solve problems of areca growers. In this backdrop rather than a road show let the Union Minister give attention to solving people’s problems, Ivan said ahead of the Union Home Minister’s scheduled visit to Puttur.
Exuding optimism that the Congress would come to power in the upcoming elections, he said the BJP which has realised this is holding programmes at government expense by inviting Prime Minister Narendra Modi again.
Former mayor Shashidhar Hegde, Opposition leader in MCC Naveen D’Souza, former corporator Appi and others were present.
