Leadership change will worsen BJP’s internal problem – Siddaramaih

Mangalore, July 7, 2012: Addressing reporters at Mangalore Airport, where he had alighted on his way to a public awareness program in Town Hall organized by the Congress, Siddaramaiah, opposition leader of the state legislative assembly, predicted that change of leadership will worsen the BJP’s internal crisis. 

The opposition leader was referring to a possible change in BJP leadership, as party leaders are considering the pros and cons of making Jagadish Shettar, Lingayat leader, as the chief minister of Karnataka instead of D. V. Sadananda Gowda.  

Mr. Siddaramaiah declared that the BJP definitely has no future in Karnataka. Even if the BJP replaced Gowda with Shettar, its internal problems will not be solved, he declared. Explaining his statements, he said that Gowda’s supporters will protest, leading to further problems within the party. 

Earlier this week, the CM had warned BJP high command to avoid taking a decision in haste. He had also warned that the public will not take kindly to such changes and will stop favoring the party.
