Mangalore, Aug 26,2012: Mangalore-based Lancy D’Cunha has been elected as the national vice president of the All India Catholic Union (AICU) at its annual general body meeting held in Kolkata recently.

Lancy D’Cunha of Mangalore has been elected as the national vice-president of All India Catholic Union.

Mr. D’Cunha was the honorary treasurer of the AICU in 2008 – 10 and the secretary general in 2010 – 12. He was the president of the Mangalore Pradesh of the Catholic Sabha for two terms from 2008 to 2010.

AICU comprises around 16 million Catholics belonging to denominations such as Syro Malabar, Latin Rite, and Syro Malankar. Established in 1930, it comprises 120 diocesan and district units.
