Mangalore Today News Network

Kundapur, Jan 18,2013:  The Udupi District Crime Investigation Bureau which is investigating into the Congress leader and RTI activist Vasudeva Adiga murder case, has so far arrested a total of five persons, including four contract  killers. All the arrests took place in Bangalore and the accused are said to be residents of Adugodi in Bangalore.

vasudev 1Of the five arrested, if four are contract killers, the last person to be arrested  was reportedly Subrahmanya Udupa,  the brother-in-law of Adiga’s  neighbour Ramesh Bayiri who is suspected to have played a role in the murder, owing to some land dispute with Adiga. The arrested Udupa is said to be an astrologer.

Sources revealed that Adiga and Bayiri had a land dispute since several years and  the court had ruled in Adiga’s favour which was unacceptable for Bayiri. Meanwhile there are also reports that some people who were not happy with Adiga’s RTI queries and were into trouble owing to it, might have also instigated the murder.

Police are now on the lookout for Bayiri. The arrested will be taken to the spot where Adiga’s body was found.

 Investigations are in progress.
