Kundapur : Road mishaps claim 2 lives

Kundapur, March 6, 2013 : Two persons lost their lives while two others sustained critical injuries in two separate mishaps, both involving private buses and bikes reported from Kundapur.

A person identified as Narasimha Bhandari (50) who was riding a bike along with his son Nayan towards Hemmady, was killed when the bike was hit by a bus heading towards Kollur on March 6, Wednesday morning. If Bhandari died on the spot, Nayak has been admitted to hospital with critical injuries.

Bhandari was running a saloon at Hemmady while Nayan is a class X student at Janata High School, Hemmady.

In another mishap reported on March 5, Tuesday night, a bike rider named Chandrashekhar (28) hailing from Hattiangady was killed on the spot, while the pillion rider Ravi (26) sustained serious injuries.

The bike riders were on way to Tallur when the mishap took place. Chandrashekhar was a water bill collector in the Panchayat.

Kundapur police have registered a case.
