Kundapur: Lorry rams parked car in Thekkatte; entrepreneur, son escape unhurt

Kundapur, Aug 16, 2025: A Thekkatte businessman and his son had a narrow escape when a lorry crashed into their parked Innova on NH-66 at Thekkatte late last night. The vehicle was completely wrecked, but both emerged unharmed.

Ananth Nayak (57), Managing Director of Sri Ganesh Silks, Thekkatte, and his son Anoop Nayak (23) had parked the car with parking lights on while waiting for another person to join them before proceeding to Koteshwar Sri Pattabhi Ramachandra Temple for a bhajanotsava programme.

Accident

During this time, a lorry carrying onions from Pune to Mangaluru slammed into the rear of the Innova, causing severe damage.

According to Anoop Nayak, both escaped without injuries because they were wearing seat belts.

Kota police visited the scene, conducted an inspection, and registered a case.
