Kundapur: Father, son killed as car rams against bike

Kundapur, April 27, 2013 : A tragic road mishap reported from Tekkatte near here on April 27, Saturday afternoon, claimed the life of a father and a son. The mishap took place when a speeding car rammed into their two-wheeler near the Tekkatte Petrol Bunk.

The deceased are Rajesh Acharya (45) of Kedoor and his son Sharanu (9), a class four student of Kedur Primary School. The accident occurred when the two were on way home at Kedoor. The Toyota Etiios Car belonging to Ambika travels rammed against the two-wheeler in its bid to overtake. The two died on the spot.

The family of one Lakshman Shetty hailing from Mumbai, had hired the car and were on way to Ernadi in Padubidri for a Nagamandala Pooja. Even the people in the car namely Lakshmi, Shashikala and Sudhaker were injured.

The car was hired by Laxman Shetty to visit Ernadi, Padubidri for Nagamandala puja. He was travelling with his family members Laxmi, Shashikala and Sudhakar, who were injured.

The car involved in the accident has Maharashtra registration. The driver is learnt to have fled the scene of the accident. Eyewitnesses said the car was proceeding at great speed.

Kota police have registered a case.
