Mangalore, May 19: Former minister, Kota Srinivas Poojary inaugurated the newly constructed Memorial Circle name after Legendary Koti-Chennaya  in Nandigudda on Sunday, May 19.  The memorial structure of the legendary twin heroes of Tulunadu, was sponsored and organized by Narayana Guru Yuva Vedike, Mangalore. 

Speaking on the occasion , Srinivas Poojary said that Koti-Chennaya are twins who were   legendary warriors fought for social justice and equality in society. “They lived in this part of the world in 6th century. The ideology of the Tulu heroes are not of any purticular community but of the whole society irrespective of casts and religion. Koti-Chennaya could be a role model for the presnt generation," he said.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Ramesh Kumar, MD of Janatha Constructions, who has sponsored the Koti-Chennaya Monument  said  he was immensely pleased to see the structure inaugurated today. He congratulated the Narayana Guru Yuva Vedike for their dedication and appreciated the efforts taken by all members of the Vedike. “Narayana Guru Vedike has been carrying out many community welfare activities for many years. I feel proud to be associated with them in their various programs” he said.

President of Garodi Temple, Mr. Chittaranjan said that this Kotti-Chennaya circle is a land mark in Nadigudda and is build in memory of Tulu legends. Shashidhar Hegde, Corporato and Former Mayor , Premananda Shetty, Shailaja, Vasudev Kottary, Purushotham Rai, Vijaya Lakshmi, Meera Ashok, Suresh Babu and Shivaraj, President of Narayana Guru Yuva Vedike were present.
   
Santhosh Kumar, engineer of the project was felicitated on the occasion.
