Kundapur, Jan 16,2013 : Students of the Government First Grade College at Koteshwar boycotted classes on January 15, Tuesday demanding an apology from their Kannada lecturer who was allegedly harassing them.
According to the students, the lecturer Usha used to frequently hurl verbal abuses at the students. They also alleged that she was irregular to classes.
It is learnt, that on January 15, Monday, the lecturer chose to abuse the students by terming them ‘children of British’ and using such other words, forcing the students to resort to protest and demand an apology from the teacher.
The police had to intervene when talks in the presence of the Principal Abhishekam failed to yield any result. Finally, students called off their protest after the lecturer tendered a public apology during talks with Circle Inspector Manjunath Kavari and Sub-inspector Jayaram Gowda.
