Mangalore, Mar 30. 2013 : Mangalore MLA UT Khader who has alleged that officials were not attending to civic grievances at several places on the pretext of poll code of conduct, has urged the State Election Commission to set up a grievance cell to enable public to air their grievances.
Speaking to reporters at the District Congress Office here on March 29, Friday, he said several areas in Ullal were suffering from water scarcity and that the officials were not coming to the aid of the distressed people. He said elected representatives who tried to redress grievance were warned of action on the pretext of poll code. This being the case, it is better for the State Election Commission to set up a grievance cell, he said.
He said such a cell would help the officials to co-ordinate with the public in trying to find solution to civic woes until elections are over and a new government is formed.
