Kasargod, Sep 17, 2021:  Following the death of a five year old boy due to fever in Chengala Gram Panchayat limits, his throat swab sample has been sent for  lab test.

The measure has been taken as the boy reportedly had some symptoms of Nipah virus. The samples have been sent to a lab at Kallikote and also the National Institute of Virology at Pune. The report is expected in two days.

The boy’s Covid test was negative.  The Health officials have  suspended all  events in the panchayat limits until the report is out. Even vaccination programme has been suspended.
