Mangalore, Aug 14, 2012 : The Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy organized Konkani Samvedana at its office in Lalbagh on August 13, Monday. Kasargod Chinna, president of the academy, presided.
In his address, he said that the academy provides opportunities for budding writers and artistes by organizing a wide range of events. He announced that the academy will celebrate Konkani Teachers’ Day on September 5.
Claud D’Souza, Konkani musician, inaugurated the event. Vijaya Kumar Bhat, the visually impaired musician, was honored on this occasion.
Janardana Gowda, member of the DK ZP standing committee, and Venkatesh Baliga, editor of Kodiala Khabar, were the chief guests.
Roy Castelino, member of the academy, delivered the welcome address and Devdas Pai, registrar, proposed the vote of thanks. Mahesh R. Nayak was the MC.
