Mangalore, Aug 14, 2012: Fr. Victor Machado, parish priest of Bejai, inaugurated the 400th ATM outlet of Karnataka Bank in Bejai Church Complex on August 14, Tuesday.
Ananthkrishna, chairman of Karnataka Bank, presided over the formal stage program held on this occasion in Bejai Church Hall.
In his address, Fr. Machado expressed delight that an ATM outlet has been launched on the church premises. He wished the bank well.
Karnataka Bank MD P. Jayaram Bhat spoke about the achievements of the bank. He said that the bank plans to install 50 more ATM outlets by the end of this fiscal year, adding that, according to an RBI survey, Karnataka Bank holds the fourth position among 52 banks that provide ATM facilities.
Delivering the presidential address, Ananthakrishna said that customers can withdraw as much as Rs. 50,000 using their debit cards, adding that Karnataka Bank is the only bank that offers this facility. Stating that Karnataka Bank ATM is user friendly, he said that 53 percent of the transactions at Karnataka Bank ATM outlets are by customers of other banks and 47 percent of the transactions are by customers of Karnataka Bank.
The bank’s total turnover this fiscal year is Rs. 65,000, and the bank aims to reach a target of Rs. 1 lakh crore by 2015, he added.
