Kalakul Konkani stages unique play ‘Platform No 3’

Mangalore, Sep 2, 2013: Kalakul, Konkani staged a unique Konkani comedy play titled ‘Platform No 3’ at Kalaangann, Shaktinagar on September 1, Sunday.

The play scripted by Arun Raj Rodrigues and directed by Christopher D’Souza, Neenasam was presented by Mandd Sobhann, as a pasrt of its 141st monthly theater.

 

The story of the play revolves around a boy and girl, who meet each other in a railway platform. It is said that young boy,  gold medalist with MBA graduate on his way to Chennai to attend an interview in a MNC meets his fellow passengers, a Gujarati couple, a handicap person,  a gay , a prostitute along with the Malayali vendor of tea stall, policeman and a girl in the platform.

Since the train was delayed for 3 hours, all these passengers involve themselves in enacting a political play by imitating various political leaders. Bu the story takes the twist at the end when train arrives at the platform.  

‘Platform No 3’ is the first play by Kalaakul new batch (2013-14). 

The characters played the role in the play are Melwyn Pais, Sandeep Tellis, Maria Joyce DSouza, Arun Tauro, Preetham Rodrigues, Neeshma D’Souza, Vanessa D’Cunha, Rivin Crasta, Malcon Rego and Hanley Coelho, Whereas Rohan Lobo was the music director.
