Kadriya Kalavidaru to present historical Tulu play Kadridha Maime

Mangalore. Fen 18, 2012: Kadriya Kalavidaru will present a Tulu historical play titled Kadridha Maime on the premises of Kadri Temple on Feb 29 Monday at 8:00 p.m., as part of their 15th annual celebrations.

Addressing the press at a press conference held at Press Club today, President Gokul Kadri said that the play is written by Kadri Navneeth Shetty and directed by Niranjan K. Salian and will be staged for the first time on the premises of Kadri Temple. The play comprises 21 episodes and will be staged for 3 hours in 2 phases.

Speaking on the occasion, Kadri Navneeth Shetty said that the Bhaktirasadhare from J. Uttam Kumar Kodialbail will mark the beginning of the event at 6:30 p.m.

At 4:30 p.m., the Musical Divine team will present an instrumental music show, Ghana Nrithya Academy will present a dance show at 5:30 p.m., and the formal stage program will commence at 7:00 p.m.

A. Janardhana Shetty, the president of the Temple Renovation Committee, will present over the event.

Umanath A. Kotian, the president of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy; Kusumadhar, the managing trustee of the temple; Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, the president of Kannada Sahitya Parishad; H. K. Purushottam, the president of the Karnataka State Jogi Welfare Association; entrepreneur Rajesh Naik; Rathnakar Jain, the owner of Jain Travels; Dinesh Devadiga, the president of the Shri Krishna Janma Mahotsav Committee; and Praveen Alva, the owner of Maithri Hardware will be the guest of honor.

Shrinivas Kadri, the film actor, theatre artist, and director, and S. Ramadas, the singer and theatre artist, will be honored on this occasion in recognition and appreciation of their contributions to Tulu language and culture.

Rohidas Kadri, the honorary president; Niranjan K. Salian, the secretary; and Mohan Koppala Kadri, the treasurer, were also present.
