Mangalorre, April 4, 2012 : A group of 10 senior students assaulted 2 junior students near Nanthoor on the night of April 3 Tuesday. One of the victims was even pushed inside a deep ditch beside the road.

Robin, who hails from Kerala and has enrolled into a medical college in Mangalore, was pushed by his seniors into the ditch by the roadside and was later rescued by Corporator Diwakar and his friends who were travelling along the way.

The other victim escaped from the scene, while Robin survived because he was caught on a branch and was rescued in time.

Mr. Diwakar and his friends first took Robin to the police station and then admitted him to a hospital as he had sustained head injuries.
