Speaking about the artists, he said that the circus now has an 8-member African team comprising six male and two female artistes who can form human pyramids, perform limbo dance, eat fire, and perform pole acrobatics. Lauding the artistes’ ability to climb up and down poles and jump from one pole to the other, he said that they have remarkable speed and dexterity, adding that they  can hold the entire audience spellbound when they perform to the accompaniment of the popular Shakira number.

Besides, the fish act, the double pole acrobatics by the African team, and the Russian stick balance are being performed for the first time in Mangalore, he said.

He also spoke about the elephant team, which comprises Chanchal, the cricket-playing elephant, who has played a role in Kamal Hassan’s movie Dashavatharam, in which it acts with Mallika Sherawat.

Further he said that the circus also features rare birds such as the macaw, which is found in Brazil, and the cockatoo, which is found in Australia. These birds have delighted audiences with their see-saw act, he added.

He was accompanied by some members of the African team Richard Masura, Rukia Shabani Dummi, and Rehema Mashaka Ponda.
