Journalists Kalpana Sharma, Ammu Joseph to participate at St. Ann’s National seminar

Mangalore, Sep 10, 2013: St. Ann’s college will hold a National seminar on “Education and Women Empowerment" at College auditorium on September 12- 13.

Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on Sep 10, Tuesday, seminar convener Dr. A Shashikala said that Mumbai based renowned journalist, columnist and media consultant Kalpana Sharma will inaugurate the seminar, while Ammu Joseph, journalist and media-watcher based in Bangalore will deliver the key note address.

She also said that Dr R Indira, Professor of Sociology, Manasagangotri, Mysore and Vimala, ’Janavaadi’ women organization’s president will present the papers. A total of 40 research papers will be presented by various eminent resource persons.

Social worker from Mysore Roopa Rao, Maulana Azhad National Urdu University Professor Dr. Shahida, Mangalore University professor Dr Udaya Kumar and Deeds director Merlin Martis will participate as the resources persons, she said.

College principal Dr. Sr Leoneela Menezes and physical education director Suresh Kumar Shetty, were present.
