Jammu and Kashmir Ulisi Horata Samithi demands rejection of report

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, July 9, 2012: The Jammu and Kashmir Ulisi Horata Samithi organized a massive protest in front of the DC’s office on July 9, Mangalore, demanding that a report submitted by a 3-member committee over the Jammu and Kashmir issue must be rejected.

Stating that the report contradicts itself, the protestors alleged that it is part of an international conspiracy to separate Jammu and Kashmir from India. The protestors said that, if the bill is accepted, the country will be divided and lost.
They later submitted a memorandum to the president of India through DC Channappa Gowda.

The 3-member committee report recommends free transportation and business along the border to improve Indo-Pak relations, but the Jammu and Kashmir Ulisi Horata Samithi says that this is unscientific. Alleging that several of the recommendations favor separatism and partition, the protestors vehemently opposed the committee’s recommendation to mention the chief minister’s and governor’s name in Urdu.

MP Nalin Kumar, Suvrath Kumar of the Citizen’s Council of Mangalore, Bajrang Dal Convener Sharan Pumpwell, Jagadish, and many others were present.
