Udupi, March 14, 2012: H. D. Kumaraswamy, the former chief minister and JD(S) leader, is sure about his party’s victory in the Udupi – Chikmagalur by polls because he feels that the people are looking for a positive change.

Voicing his political opinions at a press conference held in Hotel Kidiyor in Udupi on March 14 Wednesday, the JD(S) leader said that he has been attempting to connect with the citizens at a deeper level during his campaigning activities in Kundapur and Karkala and that, in the course of his political campaigns, he has learned that the people are disappointed with the BJP and the Congress and wanted a complete political change.

Flaying the BJP and the Congress, he said that they have contributed nothing but scams and scandals and that the by poll results will change the mental attitude of those who feel that the JD(S) is a weak political party.

Listing out the BJP’s failures, he said that the party has failed to provide basic facilities to the people who voted it to power. In spite of funds being allocated for a bridge in Kodi in Kundapur, the project is still pending because the BJP lacks the humility to understand the needs of the people, he said.

Responding to allegations that the JD (S) is attempting to woo Billawa voters, Madhu Bangarappa, the president of the youth JD(S), said that the JD (S) has not given priority to a particular community.

Deviprasad Shetty, the district president of the JD (S); Gulam Ahmed, its working president; along with several JD (S) workers such as U. R. Sabhapathy, Kenchanoor, and others were also present.
