JD(S) candidate quarrels with University College principal

Mangalore, May 16, 2012: S. L. Bhojegowda, JD(S)  candidate for the council elections, quarreled with Laxminarayana Bhat, the principal of University College, because the latter did not allow the former to enter the premises of the college to campaign for the elections from the south-west graduates constituency.

S. L. Bhojegowda campaigned successfully in several colleges in the city and visited University College in Hampankatta at 11:00 a.m.

 

The principal did not allow him to enter the premises of the college, stating that it is the venue for valuations. A furious S. L. Bhojegowda argued that the principal had permitted D. H. Shankarmurthy and Captain Ganesh Karnik to campaign at University College on May 15, Tuesday. He also stated that the principal is biased against JD(S) candidates.

The principal retorted that he was on leave on May 15 and had no idea about it, adding that he can lodge police complaints against D. H. Shankarmurthy and Captain Ganesh Karnik if they had really entered the college premises.

The principal-in-charge clarified that S. L. Bhojegowda’s statement about Captain Ganesh Karnik and D. H. SHankarmurthy campaigning at University College is false.
