JD (S) and left parties demand implementation of Jan Lokpal Bill

Mangalore, August 23: The JD (S), DK district units, and the left parties jointly organized a protest to criticize the central government for its failure to pass the Jan Lokpal Bill and to express their support for Anna Hazare’s anti corruption movement.

JD (S), CPI (M), and CPI workers could be seen actively participating in the protest in front of the DC’s office in Mangalore and shouting slogans against the central government. 


Speaking on the occasion, JD Secretary MG Hegde, said that the upper class youth, who used to stay aloof from political and social affairs, have now expressed their support for Anna Hazare and his anti corruption movement. 


He also said that one cannot wholly agree with Anna, adding that the Jan Lokpal Bill will not be able to clean the country of corruption as soon as it is passed. Flaying the central government, he said that soon CM Yeddyurappa and his sons will find themselves in jail if people unite against corruption. 


Deviprasad Shetty, the president of the district JD (S); Vishwanath Rai, the CITU leader; Sanjeeva, the taluk secretary of the CPI; Shalini Shetty Kenchanoor and Vasudev Rao, both JD (S) workers; Raju Poojary, Anand Poojary, Vittal Shetty, K. V. Bhat, Rama Kunder, and others, all members of the CPI; and many others participated in the protest.
