Mangalore, May 14, 2012: Engineering students from all over the state exhibited innovative projects at the 10th edition of Srishti 2012, a state-level project exhibition and competition organized recently by the ABVP at Sahyadri College. 


The students of Rajarajeshwari College of Engineering, Bangalore exhibited a device that can receive instructions through text messages to unlock and lock doors. The students said that they used a GSM modem to create this device, which can check vehicle theft.

A team of students from University BDT College of Engineering, Davanagere, exhibited a system that can help the railway department to discharge night soil from train toilets far away from city limits. According to the team leader, their optimum speed discharge toilet system will discharge night soil only when the train reaches a speed of 40kms/hr. The students said that the system will help the railway department keep the tracks clean. They also said that the research and development wing of the Mysore Division of the Southern Railway had appreciated their project. 


The students had also exhibited projects such as dam protection and flood monitoring system, F3-800 racer car, smart farmer assistant and e-ration management system, weed control robo, pedal-powered washing machine, and many others.
