Mangalore, July 16, 2012: The people of Hiriadka found an injured leopard, which had taken shelter in the godown of Someshwar Hotel, Hebri on July 15, Sunday.
According to the locals, the leopard got injured on July 6 when it fell into a trap laid for hogs and was turned over to the forest officers, who released it into the forest without giving it proper treatment. They feel that the same leopard has now come back seeking help.
The local people complained that the forest officers release wild creatures near Agumbe Ghat, and these wild creatures enter the villages in search of food and water.
The Hebri forest officers again released the leopard into the forest.
