Include ideals of Swami Vivekananda in school syllabus : CT Ravi

Mangalore, Jan 12,2013: The message and thoughts of Swami Vivekananda should be included in school syllabus not only in educational institutions in India but also across  the globe, said CT Ravi, DK District in-charge Minister and State Minister for Higher Education.

He was speaking after inaugurating Viveka Sanchalana, a programme organized by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Ramakrishna Math and Swami Vivekananda 150th Birth Anniversary Celebration Committee at the Math premises on January 12, Saturday.The Minister further said the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda should be observed as a year of determination and awareness among youth.

Earlier, a rally  organized in this connection from Nehru Maidan to Ramakrishna Mutt, was flagged off by District Minister CT Ravi and Deputy Commissioner N Prakash.  Hundreds of school and college students took part in the rally.

N Prakash, Deputy Commissioner, Dr K N Vijay Prakash, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer, Ananthkrishna,ex-officio Chairman  of Karnataka Bank, Krishna Palemar, MLA, N Vinay Hegde, Chancellor of Nitte University, Anwar Manippady, Swami Jithakamananda, President of Sri Ramakrishna Math, Mangalore, Capt Ganesh Karnik,Monappa Bhandary,  MLCs,  and others were present.
