Illegal Bangladeshi immigrants responsible for NE Indian problem - Muthalik

Mangalore Today News Network

muthalik12aug19 Mangalore, Aug 19, 2012: Addressing reporters at a press conference held in Radhakrishna Temple, Marigudi on August 19, Sunday, Pramod Muthalik, leader of the Shri Rama Sene (SRS), declared that the problem of North East Indians is the problem of the whole country.

Elaborating on the North East Indian issue, he said that the problem was created by illegal immigrants from Bangladesh. According to Muthalik, over 30,000 Bangaldeshis have illegally entered India and spread all over Karnataka. Over 3000 HIV positive Bangladeshi women have taken shelter in various lodges with the intention of spreading AIDS, he said.

Urging the state government to identify and deport these illegal immigrants from India, he said that the SRS will organize intense protests if the state government fails to take any action. He said that the SRS will hold a state-level meeting to discuss the possibility of conducting a survey of Bangladeshi immigrants and will submit a report to the home ministry. Claiming that it will take the SRS 15 days to complete such a survey, he said that the SRS will organize a massive protest if the home ministry fails to take action even after receiving the report, adding that the government will be then considered responsible for the consequences.

Further speaking about Bangladeshi immigrants, he said that the SRS has identified 12 women in Belgaum and 32 in Bangalore, who are currently involved in prostitution.

He also demanded to why Congress leader Oscar Fernandes is quiet about the threat to national security posed by illegal Bangladeshi immigrants. He also flayed PM Manmohan Singh and Assam CM Tarun Gagoi for keeping quiet about this issue.

When a reporter asked him about his take on the attack on young women at Morning Mist Home Stay, he said that assaulting the young people was wrong. Stating that the State Women’s Commission’s report on the attack is just an interim report, he said that the guilty will be severely punished. Simultaneously, he demanded an investigation of bars, home stays, and pubs in Mangalore.

When asked why the chairperson of the State Women’s Commission did not meet the victims, he said that it was wrong on the part of C. Manjula to return without meeting the victims.

Voicing his opinion of the Kannada movie Dirty Picture, he said that the SRS is against the fact that the actress is a Pakistani. He demanded to know why the producer signed up a Pakistani actress when there is no dearth of Indian actresses. Calling it an insult to the country, he alleged that Pakistani actress Veena Mallik is a terrorist agent who was caught carrying RDX in her car. Flaying the producer for signing up Veena Mallik for money and publicity, he said that the SRS will not allow the movie to be released in any theatre in Karnataka.

SRS leaders Kumar Malemar, Prasad Attavar, and Madhusudhan Urwa Store were also present.
