Ice Cream eating contest-IPL attracts several participants

Mangalore, May 13, 2013 :  As many as thirty teams, each having two members relished ice creams as much as they can, as  part of the Ice Cream Premier  League, an ice cream eating contest conducted by  The 3 Hungry Men and Icy Creamz Parlour of Hangyo at Divya Deepa Arcade here. The event was sponsored by Pepsi and 92.7 Big FM.

 

 

In the preliminary round a contestant had to gobble up half a litre of ice cream as fast as he can. A total of six teams reached the semi finals The first prize went to Dhiwin Varma and Suraj Shetty who won two IPL tickets for the IPL match to be played at Bangalore on May 14 between Royal Challengers and Kings XI Punjab. Staj Soften and Rohith were the first runner-up, winning two vouchers worth Rs 500. Sonal Karkera and Austin were the second runners-up. The special ’Man of the Match’ prize, went to Sonal Karkera for finishing half litre of ice cream in a record 1 minute and 16 seconds.

The prizes were awarded by Kiran of Pepsi and F S Miranda, Marketing Manager of Hangyo. Girish Kamath who won a prize in the contest conducted by 92.7 Big FM was awarded a prize on the occasion. The programme was compered by Nikhil Pai and Colin D’Souza of The 3 Hungry Men.
