I have appealed for a CBI probe into Sowjanya case : MLA Shakuntala Shetty

 Mangalore, Oct 10, 2013 : Shakuntala Shetty, MLA of Puttur who is also the President of the Women and Child Welfare Committee has said that she along with Belthangady MLA Vasanth Bangera has demanded a CBI probe into the Sowjanya rape and  murder case.

 

 

Speaking to reporters here, the MLA said no complaint has been registered with the Committee regarding the incident that was reported a year ago.

She informed on the occasion that  a review meeting of six departments including Home, Excise, Women and Child Welfare, Health, Labour and Education Departments will be held in Mangalore on October 10, Thursday and that this was the second such meeting that is organised outside Bangalore.

A report will also be submitted to the government on the proceedings of the meeting and the recommendations put forth by the participants.
