Hundreds take part in Big FM’s safety awareness run

Mangalore, Nov 4, 2012: Hundreds of people took part in the marathon organized jointly by Total Lubricants and 92.7 Big FM as part of a month-long safety campaign.

The campaign comprised four phases, in which the first phase dealt with creating awareness on drunken driving, the second phase with using mobile phones while driving, the third phase with reckless driving, and the fourth phase was the Total Quartz Safety Run.

The run began at Bharath Mall and ended at PVS, with over 700 people belonging to different organizations taking part.

MLA Krishna J. Palemar flagged off the event in the presence of Total Oil India GM Uma Shankar and Vinay Kumar.

Students from Canara CBSE and Presidency School participated in the event. Organizations and education institutions that formed part of the event were Lions Club, RX Life, DK District Bus Owners’ Association and Auto Association, Big Bazaar, Make a Difference (MAD), Western Institute of Technology, SRS Global, MRPL, MCF, Mangala Stadium Walkers’ Association, Rotary Inner Wheel, Roshni Nilaya, St. Ann’s School, St. Aloysius College, and fans of Big FM.

Speaking on the occasion, RJ Vishwas, programming head for Big FM, said that Big FM will hold many more awareness programs in association with RTO in future too.
