Mangalore, March 6, 2012 : A house on Varkady Lane, Dongerkeri caught fire in the morning of March 6 Tuesday. The owner Raghavendra Rao noticed smoke coming out of the bathroom at 6:30 a.m.

The family had heated water for bath early in the morning and a spark might have gone to the firewood stored nearby causing the fire.

The fire fighting personnel found it difficult to reach the house as the lane leading to it is very narrow. Meanwhile, the family members with the help of some neighbors doused the flame. Finally, the fire fighting service found another way to reach the house and successfully put off the fames.

The fire has only destroyed the bathroom of the house.
