Homestay attack : Cops arrest one more accused

Mangalore, July 22, 2013 : The Bajpe and Mangalore Rural Police in a joint operation managed to arrest one of the accused in the Morning Mist Homestay attack case, who had remained at large  for almost a year after the incident.

The arrested is Manu alias Manoj(23) of Gurupur Kaikamba.  The police on gathering a tip off that he was near Moodbidri, arrested him on July 21 and produced him before the court. He has been sent to judicial custody.

It is learnt, he was in hiding in Kodagu and Mysore  even as police launched a search for him. Police said  he was also wanted in connection with a murder attempt case and four other cases.

The total number of persons arrested in the case so far has risen to 38.  The police had identified a total of 44 accused in the case.  Of them 18 have been released on bail. Twenty are still in judicial custody.
