Mangalore, Feb 23, 2013 : Mangalore has been put on high alert in the wake of the twin blasts at Hyderabad on February 21, Thursday. Security has been tightened at strategic installations including Mangalore International airport, famous pilgrim shrines, malls and theatres.
Mangalore Police Commissioner Manish Kharbikar said a strict vigil is also maintained in the railway station and passengers have been subject to thorough checking.
Security has also been stepped up in Udupi, prominently at the Sri Krishna Mutt of Udupi. Udupi SP Dr Boralingaiah and other police officials visited the Mutt and inspected the security measures which are in place.
