Mangalore, Oct 9, 2012 : The High Court of Karnataka has directed the police to submit a transcript of the alleged inflammatory speech delivered by Dr. Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, Rashtriya Swayam Sevak (RSS) leader, at the Hindu Samajotsava held in Uppinangady in January this year. The court, which issued this order on Oct 8, Monday, wants the transcript in two weeks.

bhat 1Suresh Bhat Bakrabail, president of the Karnataka Komu Souharda Vedike, filed a public interest litigation (PIL), in which he said that Dr. Bhat had made many objectionable and inflammatory statements in his speech.

Dr. Bhat’s legal representative said that there is no evidence for the charges leveled against Bhat and that the Komu Souharda Vedike is not a registered body.

Chief Justice Vikramjit Sen stated that people like Dr. Bhat are the ones who tarnish the reputation of the country and demanded to know if the state government wants a civil war.

According to the PIL, Dr. Bhat’s speech created a lot of communal tension in Uppinangady, in spite of which the police allowed Dr. Bhat to continue his speech.
