Udupi, Aug 30, 2013 : The temple town of Udupi was thronged by thousands of devotees to witness the much awaited Vittlapindi or Sri Krishna Leelotsava celebrations at Carstreet. On this day Lord Krishna could be seen decked up with Vajra Kavacha Alankara.
The Vittlapindi procession began at 3 pm on August 29, Friday wherein a clay idol of Lord Krishna was taken in the golden chariot. Enroute, enthusiasts broke the earthen pots tied to a pole and filled with curds, milk, colour etc.

Several tableaux, the traditional Huli Veshadharis, the Nasik band etc added gaiety to the celebrations. Bhajans and chanting of hymns reverberated all around the area.
The procession culminated at the Madhwa Sarovar where the idol of Lord Krishna was immersed after the traditional rituals. The ceremonies were held in the presence of Sri Vidya Vallabha Theertha Swamiji of Paryaya Sode Mutt and the Krishnapur Mutt seer.
