Mangalore, Nov 15, 2013: Karnataka is the only state in India which has seven synthetic tracks, said state Minister for Youth, Sports and Fisheries K Abhayachandra Jain.
He was speaking after inaugurating a state level Paika Women’s Sports Meet at Mangala Stadium in Mangalore on November 14.
Thursday. He said a synthetic track has been laid at Mangala Stadium at a cost of Rs 4 crore for the benefit of athletes and spoke about the government plans of laying synthetic tracks in all districts of the state.
The task of laying synthetic tracks at four more towns are under progress, he informed.
District in-charge Minister Ramanatha Rai and several others were present on the occasion.
