Mangalore, August 15, 2011: Veteran freedom fighter and Gandhian, Namdev Shenoy will be participating in the ‘Fast in solidarity to Anna Hazare’s Fast for ‘Jan Lokpal Bill’ organized by the D.K. Ant-Corruption Forum on August 16, 2011.

“August 16, 2011 will mark the second freedom struggle in India” said veteran Gandhian and social activist Anna Hazre. Expressing strong discontent over the government’s version of the anti-graft Lokpal Bill, Anna Hazare vowed to go on fast Aug 16, 2011 calling it the country’s “second freedom struggle”.

This is our best chance to eradicate corruption in our country. It is time we come together and join this second freedom struggle.  It is now or never.   We call upon the citizens of Mangalore to support Anna Hazare’s “Second Freedom Struggle” to free the country from all sorts of corruption and corrupt practices.

The government has cheated the entire nation by clearing the draft of the Lokpal Bill that excludes very important clauses of the Jan Lokpal Bill drafted by the Anna Hazare and his team. The Prime Minister, the Chief Justice and the members of parliament for their actions inside the house are excluded from the ambit of the Lokpal Bill that was placed in the Parliament recently. So are the CBI and other investigation agencies controlled by the Government.

Anna Hazare is left with no option but to go on indefinite fast from August 16, 2011. In support and solidarity to Anna Hazare’s Jan Lokpal Bill and his fight against corruption, we the citizens of Mangalore have decided to sit on fast from 10 AM to 6 PM at the entrance of  the Deputy Commissioners office, State Bank circle, Mangalore. Gandhian, Namdev Shenoy will lead the fast.

We call upon people of Mangalore to come forward and join us in our efforts in supporting the Ant-corruption movement led by Gandhian Anna Hazare and team. Join us in the “second freedom struggle” to free the country from corruption and corrupt practices. 

Program:

• Namdev Shenoy will address the participants and the public at 10 AM
• Fast commences at 10 Am
• Conclusion at 6 pm
• Partcipants will light the Lamp in solidarity to Anna Hazare’s “Second Freedom Struggle”
